Wilton Women’s Basketball End of Season Wrap-up
Last Sunday, the Wilton Women’s Basketball team played West Branch. Unfortunately, West Branch won in a 60-16 game. Wilton sophomore Kelsey Drake, who scored 11 of their points, said, “It was just not a good game. We’ve played them at least twice and lost by at least 20.” Lexi Walker, ‘21, agreed claiming, “We came into the game thinking they were really good, and we felt intimidated.” The season’s 8-18 record left room to improve upon in later seasons, and there are things that need to be taken into consideration. The team’s roster consisted of only three seniors with nearly of the team being half underclassmen. The overall mentality going into this season has not been very positive, but a new season could bring a new fresh start. Nobody needs to lose hope for the future, and not everyone has! The students in the stands watching have not stopped being the team’s motivators. Many consider this to be a growing season. Our women’s basketball team is positioned to improve significantly in later seasons.
