Wilton Door Decorating Contest 2020

All throughout the school, students and teachers have been getting into the holiday spirit with our school’s annual door decorating contest. Each seminar comes together as a team to decorate their door and have the best design. A winner is chosen right before we leave for Christmas break. Unfortunately, there are some teachers who don’t have a seminar but still wanted to do something fun. For example, Mrs. Garringer does not have a seminar so her Skinny Choir class has joined in on the festivities. This year our, theme was The Grinch. The doors need to have some kind of decorations that symbolize The Grinch. The results of the contest will be released this week. There have been many different creative designs. Some have made 3D images on their doors, others have lights, and one door started as just a picture of Barack Obama. The holiday festivities are important for many students and staff throughout the school, so it is an understatement to say that the door designs are creative. Many seminars go above and beyond in decorating in order to win the competition. For example, Mrs. Weekly’s door spanned more than just the door, overtaking the hallway and lockers nearby.

This event adds a little bit of excitement and livelihood to our school and the student body. No matter the winner, every participant still has a decorated door to be proud of. I hope all have a fun and healthy break. Safe travels to all who are traveling, and don’t forget to mask up!
