Fall Sports WHS

As the beavers all begin their fall sports they are all quite successful so far this season. The football team is currently 3-1, getting their first win over Tipton (21-6). The Beavers fought hard throughout their game against Northeast winning in overtime (32-26). The Beavers stayed undefeated after beating Highland at last Friday’s homecoming game (39-14). The football team has been working hard and many people have noticed quite a difference in the team this year. Unfortunately, their undefeated status was overturned on Friday, September 24th with a loss to Regina (35-7).

 

The volleyball team is also doing outstanding so far this season. The team is currently 18-1 in matches and 42-2 in sets. The Beavers got their first win against Regina in 3 sets and moved up to #2 in the state ranking after the match! The Beavers swept Tipton last Thursday at Tipton in 3 sets. The team has many outstanding accomplishments by many of the girls so far this season! Alexa Garvin hit a career high of 700 digs, Carly Puffer hit 500 digs, and Kelsey Drake with 1,000 Kills! The team has competed at state the last three years and have a great chance this year!

 

The cross country team has had success as well. The team has an MVP of the week every week voted by their teammates.. Every Wednesday, the team has a workout at the pool. Then, on Friday’s, they have “Friday Funday” where they play games while still practicing. The team competed in Iowa City for their first meet and many did well! The team competed at Tipton. Charlotte Brown was the top female runner and Deacon Duffe was the top male runner. The team recently competed at Monticello and SeAnn Houghton placed 12th in the tournament. The team puts in a lot of hard work and has a great season ahead of them.

 

The fall sports teams all have been working extremely hard and competing outstanding. The Beavers all have a great season ahead of them! Go Beavers!
