Wilton Football: Aiming for Playoffs
The Wilton football season has had some challenges this year to overcome. The record is 1 and 4 in the early season, but in the district play, the team is 0 and 1. The team is trying their hardest, and they have many goals for the season. This includes making it to the playoffs.
Senior Dalton Snider, starting defensive back, said, “My personal goal to help the team is to start on one side of the ball and help the team do their jobs and move the ball forward.”
Senior Coy Baker, starting defensive backer and offensive guard, also has set his sights to several season goals. He said, “I hope that as a team we can make it to the playoffs and in district play that we go 5 and 1.” Coy enjoys playing with the team and his personal goal is to have the most team tackles.
As a team, the Wilton Beavers hope to do well in district play and make it to the playoffs. This is a team goal all-around. While the team has faced challenges, they are remaining optimistic and enthusiastic about the rest of the season. This Friday is the homecoming game, and the team has high hopes to win against Wapello. They are hoping to come out victorious and strengthen as a team.
